Expansion Funding Partners LLC is a team of like-minded professionals with a common purpose to improve the conditions of our world through a new approach to helping small businesses break through the glass ceiling.

Joseph J. Cecala, Jr. – Founder and CEO

Prior to founding Expansion Funding Partners, Mr. Cecala operated a full service law firm in Chicago, Illinois, Cecala Law Offices, P.C. The firm’s concentration was transactional law dealing with corporate finance, financial reporting and due diligence for investors in the commodities, venture capital and private investment markets. Cecala Law Offices, P.C. served clients in the stock brokerage, manufacturing, healthcare, real estate and construction business. The firm negotiated and closed over 100 transactions over a 10 year period.

Mr. Cecala’s counsel and advice in relation to accounting and securities reporting matters have been delivered to successful and well known organizations such as Equity Property Management, Inc. owned by investor Mr. Sam Zell, Commerce Clearing House Publishing Co., and Household International, Inc. (now merged with HSBC) as well as other private and public manufacturing, real estate and banking institutions.

No stranger to the courtroom, Mr. Cecala also maintained a full service litigation practice for transactional clients maintaining membership in the Federal Trial Bar with trial privileges in Illinois, Tennessee and Wisconsin.

Mr. Cecala holds a Juris Doctor degree from DePaul University College of Law where he served as an Executive Editor of the DePaul Business Law Journal. He is a Graduate of Loyola University of Chicago where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting and holds a Certified Public Accounting certificate from the State of Illinois. After graduating from Loyola with honors as a Distinguished Military Graduate – United States Army, Mr. Cecala went on to serve 9 years in either the active military service or in the Army reserve concluding his service honorably at the rank of Captain.

Kathy A. Walley – President

Mrs. Walley is Expansion Funding Partners’ first employee, starting in the company in 2009. As the President of Expansion Funding Partners, she manages the daily activities as well as heads up the Public Relations for the company. Her diverse knowledge base and broad reach give Expansion Funding Partners an edge to the traditional establishments.

Mrs. Walley brings over 30 years of experience as an executive in the private business and non-profit sectors to Expansion Funding Partners. After working in Public Relations in the private sector, Mrs. Walley moved into the business consulting field, operating as an executive for what is now the largest consulting company of its methodology. She has owned and successfully operated several companies including a number of turnarounds, all of which are still successfully operating. Throughout this time Mrs. Walley also founded a private school, which she operated for 10 years before turning over the post as Headmistress to a colleague.

Courtney Condon – Chief Administrative Officer

Ms. Condon is the Chief Administrative Officer of Expansion Funding Partners. She oversees the firm’s administration, marketing, and accounting activities.

Ms. Condon started her career in business by receiving her degree and Master Consultant training from a private business college located in Los Angeles, California. By climbing the corporate ladder, she has managed to acquire a Senior Executive level position in every company she has worked during her career. After heading up Executive Establishment at a prestigious private consulting company in California, Ms. Condon relocated to Chicago, Illinois, in order to take over as the Chief Administrative Officer at Expansion Funding Partners. Ms. Condon’s verve for business and ability to establish well-organized companies is a driving force in Expansion Funding Partners’ mainstay operations.

Thomas Hrinowich – Director of Consulting

Mr. Hrinowich is the Director of Consulting where he has responsibility for service delivery of all management consulting and financial management products.  Prior to Expansion Funding Partners, Mr. Hrinowich founded BroadPeak Collaborative, a professional services firm that provided a unique blend of CFO-level services to meet the financial and operational needs of the emerging middle market.  An integral component of this solution has been the deployment of cutting-edge financial modeling and dashboard reporting capabilities.  BroadPeak Collaborative merged with Expansion Funding Partners in January 2011.

Previously, Mr. Hrinowich was the Managing Director for an international professional services firm where he had full P&L responsibility for the firm’s Chicago office and led the launch of the supply chain and information technology service lines.  Earlier in his career, Mr. Hrinowich was a Regional Marketing Director at HCm, a leading provider of decision support products and services to the healthcare industry.

Mr. Hrinowich earned his MBA from the University of Illinois at Chicago and holds a B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Eric Martinez – Senior Relationship Manager

Mr. Martinez is the firm’s Senior Relationship Manager where he oversees the establishment and management of client relations. This includes ensuring that clients are provided the exact services needed toward accomplishing their goals throughout their entire engagement with Expansion Funding Partners.

Mr. Martinez has risen to top-level executive positions in every organization for which he has worked. As the Operations Manager for a highly regarded Brokerage Firm in the Midwest, Mr. Martinez became expert in the fundamentals of business relations and operational matters dealing with the day-to-day affairs of a growing business. Prior to this he established himself as the Executive Vice President of an innovative information technology firm in Chicago where he oversaw client relations as well as service delivery. Mr. Martinez brings a vast wealth of experience and knowledge in the field of business growth which he utilizes to guide clients toward the correct solution for their circumstance.

Jennifer Martinez – V.P. of Promotion & Marketing

Ms. Martinez is the Vice President of Promotion and Marketing for Expansion Funding Partners. She also plays an integral role in the company’s Administrative Division. Her responsibilities include introducing the company to the broad public and making Expansion Funding Partners and its services known.

Prior to Expansion Funding Partners, Ms. Martinez ran the Online Marketing and Publications Division for an expanding online fashion company. She garnered most of her executive experience from a non-profit organization where she held the position of Director of Training, overseeing over 2,500 life-improvement course graduates in her tenure. Ms. Martinez earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communications from Miami University of Ohio.

Harry Snyder – Program Specialist

Mr. Snyder is a Program Specialist for Expansion Funding Partners. His responsibilities include gathering and analyzing data from the firm’s clients as well as compiling client data into Expansion Funding Partners’ proprietary cash-flow management system. Mr. Snyder holds the position of Acting-Controller for many of the firm’s clients.

Prior to Expansion Funding Partners, Mr. Snyder worked with Thomas Hrinowich at BroadPeak Collaborative, delivering CFO-level services to emerging middle market companies. Earlier in his career, Mr. Snyder was the President/Controller of Natural Golf, a golf club manufacturer and golf school provider with instructors throughout the United States and Canada. He was the CFO for a non-profit organization based in Chicago, with offices in Geneva, Switzerland and Johannesburg, South Africa. Mr. Snyder has also held various positions in public accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant.
